The Radboud Scholarship Programme reduces tuition to €2,694 (down from up to €18,000, depending on program) for highly selective, non-EU/EEA master’s students; plus covers visa, residence permit, health insurance, and liability insurance costs. It’s genuinely competitive: only 33 scholarships are awarded per cycle across 6 faculties.

Eligibility
- Hold a non-EU/non-EEA passport
- Not otherwise eligible for the lower EU/EEA tuition rate
- Hold (or will obtain) a bachelor’s degree from outside the Netherlands, with no prior Dutch education (exchange programs within a non-Dutch bachelor’s are fine)
- Meet the English proficiency requirement for your chosen program
- Fully admitted to an eligible English-taught master’s program via a formal admission letter
- Able to meet Dutch visa requirements
- Enrolled full-time for the relevant academic year and program
Not eligible: Erasmus Mundus master’s programs or joint-degree master’s programs. Check your specific program against Radboud’s eligible list before applying.
How to Apply
- Apply for admission to an eligible English-taught master’s program through Radboud’s OSIRIS Application system
- During that same application, indicate you also want to apply for a Radboud Scholarship
- Upload two reference letters and a CV. If you already submitted these for your program application, you can reuse them for the scholarship application
- Note: admission to the master’s program and selection for the scholarship are two separate processes — being admitted doesn’t guarantee the scholarship
- Submit your initial OSIRIS application by the first deadline; after review, you’ll be asked to pay the handling fee and fix any incomplete/incorrect documents
- Ensure your full, corrected application (including English proficiency proof) is complete by the second, later deadline
- Expect a final decision roughly two months after the final deadline

Selection Criteria
- Academic excellence: outstanding study results, relevance of your previous degree, and the ranking of your previous institution
- Ambition: quality of your motivation letter, demonstrated promise from past achievements, and relevant life/extracurricular experience
- References: quality of your two reference letters, preferably from academic referees. See Radboud’s reference letter guidelines for what they expect
Selection happens at the faculty level, and some programs may add interviews or additional criteria.

Does the scholarship cover living expenses?
No: it covers tuition reduction plus visa, residence permit, and insurance costs only. Living costs are separate.
